The application process has now closed and the Scientific Award Committee will be busy with the selection process over the coming months. The recipient will be announced during the Astra Tech World Congress in Gothenburg, on Saturday May 12, 2012

Previous winners

The Astra Tech Scientific Award has been presented twice before, in 2006 and 2008.

2006 – the inaugural winner at the world congress in New York City 2006 turned out to be three; Malta’s Nikolai Attard, Reva Barewal from the US, and Andreas Thor from Sweden all shared the spotlight in the three-way tie.

2008 – at the world congress in Washington, DC, only one nomination stood out from the rest, and that person was John Brunski, USA, the recipient of the 2008 award.
