Notification of acceptance: March 1, 2012
The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for the Research Competition and Poster Presentation. The session is divided into two sections, “Basic research” and “Clinical Research”. Basic research abstracts should focus on dental implants and related research. Clinical research abstracts should focus on the clinical use of Astra Tech products in whole or in part. The Scientific Committee will, based on study design and abstract quality, select abstracts entering the Research Competition. The authors of the selected abstracts will give an oral presentation in a dedicated session during the congress. The Scientific Committee will select one winner in each section based on the oral presentation. Abstracts accepted outside of the research competition will be presented as posters.
Clinical research prize – SEK 15,000 Basic research prize – SEK 15,000
The jury consists of members of the Scientific Committee and their decision is not subject to appeal.
Accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract book, which will be given to all delegates upon registration in Gothenburg.
Agreement Persons submitting an abstract for the Research Competition and Poster Presentation are doing so with the understanding that they abide by the conditions, deadline policies and decisions of the jury.
Abstract submission guidelines:
Acknowledgement of receipt of the submission will be sent to the e-mail address entered under the section "Presenting Author Corresponding Details". If you do not receive the confirmatory e-mail within 24 hours please contact Astra Tech at: abstract.dental@astratech.com.
Notification of acceptance of the abstracts will be e-mailed on March 1st, 2012 at the latest. The presenting author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing co-authors of the status of the abstract.
Abstracts must be written in English.
Abstracts should not be submitted if the work has been previously published or has not yet been performed.
Informed consent: Any study involving human subjects must conform to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association (www.wman.net) and must meet all of the requirements governing informed consent of the country in which it was performed.
Use of Animals: All studies involving the use of animals must conform to the July 2000 revision of Guiding Principles in the Care and Use of Animals (American Physiological Society: www.the-aps.org).
Changes to abstracts can only be accepted before the submission deadline by emailing abstract.dental@astratech.com in order to activate your Personal Page. Username and password is included in the e-mail sent to you upon submission.
Presenters of abstracts must pay the registration fee for attendance at the congress. Poster and oral presentation guidelines:
The size of the poster space is: 90 cm wide x 120 cm high. Details of the scheduled set-up of the poster, as well as the time the author must be present at the poster, will be sent to the presenting author in the notification of acceptance email. No electrical support or internet connections are available in the poster session area.
If selected for an oral presentation, a 10 minutes PowerPoint (or equal program) presentation should be prepared. The format of the presentation is 16:9. More information to the presenting author will be included in the notification of acceptance email. A poster of the work should also be prepared.
