Dr. Nimet Diamond Adatia is a valued addition to the prosthodontist family in Calgary. Born in Calgary, she was awarded her DDS from the University of Alberta. After graduating, Dr. Adatia moved to North Carolina where she completed three years of additional training and received a Master’s degree and certificate in Prosthodontics from the highly prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Adatia has several years of training and practice in Prosthodontics and implant dentistry. Her interest in implant surgery motivated her to complete a one-year fellowship in implant surgery at UNC. This surgical knowledge, along with the restorative knowledge, helps when planning implant cases in conjunction with other specialists and GPs. Before opening her private practice in Calgary, Alberta, Dr. Adatia taught at UNC as a teaching fellow in the Department of Prosthodontics and was in private practice in Fayetteville, NC as a Prosthodontist. She is a published researcher and an adjunct reviewer with the Journal of Prosthodontics. Dr. Adatia is a member of various different professional organizations, including the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Canadian Dental Association, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and the American College of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Tara Aghaloo is Associate Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the UCLA School of Dentistry. She completed her dental training at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and M.D. at UCLA. Subsequently, she completed a Ph.D. in oral biology at UCLA. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her clinical practice focuses on hard and soft tissue augmentation and dental implants. Dr. Aghaloo has published extensively on bone biology with an emphasis on bone grafting to improve current practices and dental implant success. She is also active in professional organizations such as AO, AAOMS, and IADR, and she is an associate editor of the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. She was recently the Program Chair of the 2011 AO meeting in Washington D.C., is on the board of directors of the Academy of Osseointegration, and is a member of PEERS North America.
Doctor Albouy has obtained his Dental Degree in Montpellier, France in 1993 along with a Master Certificate in Medical and Biological Sciences from the Medical School in Montpellier France. He received, in 1997, his specialty certification in prosthodontics at the University of Southern California. He also complete, on the same year, a University Certificate in Post-Graduate studies in Fixed Prothodontics from the Dental School at Universtity Paris VII, Paris. Practicing full time as a prosthodontists in a 3 dentists office in Montpellier since 1998 he performs all surgical procedures related to periodontology and implantology in his practice. He has also completed, in 2011, an Odontology Doctor degree (Ph.D.) in the department of Periodontology at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His theses titles “Progression and treatment of experimental peri-implantitis”. He is at the moment always in private practice and affiliated with the Department of Periodontology at the University of Gothenburg for further research projects.

Dr. Malkan A. Amkhadova, medical science degree, professor, leading researcher of the department of Maxillofacial Surgery of Moscow Research Clinical Institute (MONIKI). Practices surgery since 1985, from 1994 works as an implantologist. She is an author of more than 100 publications on implantology problems. Possesses the methods of bone surgery with substantial atrophy conditions on jaws with auto-implants and synthetic materials. Nancy S. Arbree, DDS, FACP, MS Dr. Arbree received her DDS at Georgetown University School of Dentistry, her General Practice Residency training at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville, FL, and her Prosthodontics/Maxillofacial Prosthetics specialty training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Dr. Arbree received a Masters of Dental Science in Research from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and is a graduate of the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women. Dr. Arbree is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists, where she served as the first female President, a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Association of Dental Educators, the American Dental Association and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, where she also served as the Academy’s first female President. Dr. Arbree joined Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1981 where she now serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Goran Benic graduated in 2002 as DMD at the Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, Switzerland and received the "doctor medicinae dentium" (Dr. med. Dent.) from the same university. After a 2-year period as full-time associate in a private practice, he started the post-graduate training in Reconstructive and Implant Dentistry at the Clinic of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Science at the University of Zurich in 2005, which he successfully completed in 2008. From 2008 to 2009, he was recipient of a scholarship at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA. In 2009 Dr. Benic received the title of Specialist of Reconstructive Dentistry from the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry. Since 2010, he is a full-time Assistant Professor at the Clinic of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Science at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Benic's clinical focus is on the treatment of complex and esthetic cases using all aspects of reconstructive dentistry. He is charge of the education program for undergraduate students and serves as expert in the post-graduate education program. Dr. Tord Berglundh graduated (LDS) 1978 in Gothenburg and received his certificate as specialist in Periodontics in 1992, the degree of Odont. Dr. (PhD) in 1993, the Docent (Associate professor) degree in 1994 and the Professor degree in 2002 from the Department of Periodontology, The Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg, where he has served since 1981. Presently, Dr. Berglundh is Professor at the Department of Periodontology, The Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg and the Head of the Periodontal Research Laboratory. He is Associate Editor of the textbook Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and the journal Clinical Oral Implants Research, member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Clinical Periodontology and serves as a referee in several other journals. Dr. Berglundh has produced more than 160 scientific publications within the field of dental implants, periodontology, immunology, genetics, tissue integration and regeneration. The studies on implants have included the use of different implant systems, compromised sites and diagnosis/treatment of peri-implantitis lesions. Interactions between periodontis and peri-implantitis represent one of the major fields of research and include translational systems of combinations of molecular biology techniques, experimental models and clinical trials.
Dr. Jacques Bernier, d.m.d., M., Sc. Graduated from the University of Laval, Quebec Canada in 1985. Dr. Bernier completed an M Sc. with his thesis: “ Bio-Psycho-Social Benefits of Implant Therapy on Edentulous patients” in 2005. Actively involved in dental implants since 1990, he maintains a practice and training center in Quebec City dedicated to implantology and focused on edentulous patients. He is also actively involved in research and education in this area.
Pr. Philippe Bouchard is full Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontology, U.F.R. d’Odontologie, Denis Diderot – Paris 7 University in France, where he received his Dental Degree in 1976. He is responsible for a Master in Odontology and the post-graduate program in Periodontology and Dental Implantology. Currently, he is head of the Oral Pathology – Oral Surgery and Periodontal Surgery Clinical Unit at the Rothschild Hospital, AP-HP, in Paris, France. He has been clinical Professor at Loma Linda University, and is visiting Professor at USC (California). Philippe Bouchard has great interest in research questions relating to the systemic effects of periodontitis, aesthetics, and decision making in periodontology and dental implant therapies. Pr. Bouchard has published in peer-reviewed journals and wrote a book on implant dentistry as well as several chapters for textbooks in periodontology. He is member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology (Europe), and member of the peer review panel of the Journal of Periodontology (U.S.A.)
Dr. Bente Brokstad Herlofson is Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Oslo and at the Cancer Clinic, Radiumhospitalet, Oslo University Hospital, Norway.
Dr. Herlofson received her Doctor of Odontology (PhD) in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine from the University of Oslo in 1996. Head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine from 2007-2008. Her research interest are oral morbidity in cancer and cancer treatment, oral oncology, effects of anti-resorptive medication on bone and bone cells, osteonecrosis of the jaw, oral health related quality of life in cancer patients, implant surgery in difficult cases, bone augmentation. She has been the President of The Norwegian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 2006 -t.d., in the executive board since 2002 and President Elect 2004-2006. Councilor of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons since 2006.
Gordon is a Melbourne prosthodontist. He graduated from the London Hospital Medical College and completed a Master’s degree in prosthetic dentistry in 1989, at the Institute of Dental Surgery, London. He then pursued prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota, finishing a Master's degree in 1993. He returned to Australia and has been practising as a Prosthodontist since 1995. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is a casual demonstrator for the Melbourne Dental School, Graduate Prosthodontic program and serves on several committees.
Dr. Butler has practiced periodontics and implantology in downtown Seattle for the past 19 years. He has also been an Affiliate Clinical Faculty member at the University of Washington. His practice reflects his emphasis on cosmetic microsurgery techniques, regenerative periodontal therapy, and implant aesthetics. Dr Butler obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma and his residency in Periodontology from the University of Florida. He has lectured to the American Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, International Association of Dental Research, Western Society of Periodontology and numerous other dental societies. Presentation topics have varied from implant aesthetics, periodontal aesthetics, non-surgical periodontal therapy to digital imaging in clinical practice. He has published articles in the Journal of the American Dental Association, Periodontology 2000, International Journal of Periodontics, Implant Realities, International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Periodontology and Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants.
Dr. Stephen D. Campbell received his D.D.S. from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed an Advanced Program in Prosthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and a Master of Medical Science Degree with a biomaterials focus at Harvard University in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Campbell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is active in several dental organizations. He is Past-President of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), American Board of Prosthodontics, Academy of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP), Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, and the International Association of Dental Research Prosthodontics Section. He is also the recent past-Chair of the ACP Education Foundation. In addition, Dr. Campbell has been very active in issues pertaining to diagnostic coding for practice and dental accreditation.Dr. Campbell has been recognized with the AAFP George H. Moulton Award, as well as the ACP Educator of the Year and Dan Gordon Lifetime Achievement Awards. The UIC Implant Team was recently (2011) recognized with the ADEA/Zimmer Dental Implant Education Teaching Award, given once every two years. Dr. Campbell has extensive clinical experience, having spent most of his time providing patient care. Dr. Campbell is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Director of the Comprehensive Dental Implant Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has been active in dental research throughout his career having been the principal investigator for several NIH grants dealing with ceramics.
Prof. Dr. Senay Canay completed her B.Sc and gratudate education in Hacettepe University, at the Faculty of Dentistry, in 1977. She became a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Dentistry's Department of Prosthodontics the same year. In 1987, she obtained her Ph.D with her thesis "In vitro corrosion and tarnish evaluation of metal alloys". She became an Assist. Prof. in 1991 and Prof. in the Department of Prosthodontics in 2001. In 1996, she worked as a visiting professor at the University of Geneva. She has various publications and has presented at international congresses. She currently works as a full-yime faculty member in Hacettepe University's department of prosthodontics. Member of the Turkish Prosthodontics and Implantology Society, European Association of Prosthodontics and of the International College of Prosthodontists. Also reviewer for the International Journal of Prosthodontics. Special areas of interest and expertise: Dental ceramics and aesthetics in implant-retained prosthesis. She was rewared by ICOI with the Ralph McKinney Outstanding Manuscript Award in 2010 for her work entitled "Biomechanical aspects of bone level diameter shifting at implant Abutment interface", which was published in Impalnt Dentistry, 18, 239-248, 2009 by Canay, S and Akca, K.
Dr. Andrew Chang received his DDS degree and graduated from Chun-Shang University from Taiwan in 2001. After three years of service in the army and private practice, he went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for advanced prosthodontic training from 2004 to 2007 where he received a certificate and a MS degree in prosthodontics. Upon finishing from prosthodontic residency, he received ITI scholarship and became an implant fellow at the department of periodontology, UNC School of dentistry where he received implant surgery training and learned hard and soft tissue augmentation techniques. Dr. Chang became a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2009 and is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He published articles extensively in implant dentistry and presented numerous lectures internationally. Dr. Chang also maintains a private practice in Taipei, Taiwan which specialize in full mouth reconstruction and implant dentistry.

His main fields of interest are Oral and maxillofacial surgery, with particular focus on advanced preprosthetic surgery (reconstructions for severe atrophy, tumor defects, trauma sequelae, congenital malformations, distraction osteogenesis). He has extensively lectured on these topics all over the world. He is the author or co-author of approximately 80 papers published on peer-reviewed international journals and approximately 100 papers published in Italian Journals. He is the author or co-author of 10 textbooks related to oral and maxillofacial surgery, some of them published in English and/or translated in several other languages (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese).
Bruno Collaert obtained his dental degree at the University of Leuven, Belgium, in 1987, he moved to the Lund University in Sweden where got a Master of Dental Sciences in the field of Periodontology degree in 1990. Two years later he successfully defended a PhD thesis regarding chemical supragingival plaque control. Since1995 he is Associate Professor in the field of Periodontology, Center for Oral Health Sciences at the Malmö University, Sweden. Dr. Collaert is head of the Centre for Periodontology and Implantology in Leuven, Belgium, where he treats more than 300 implant patients a year. His research interest has a focus on implant related therapy. He has been involved in studies about short and long term follow-up of conventional, early and immediate loading; the effect of smoking; patients' opinion; patients' respons to supportive therapy; the effect of implant therapy on speech; and cone beam CT technology among others.
Dr. Lyndon Cooper D.D.S., Ph.D. is the Stallings Distinguished Professor of Dentistry of the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently Chairperson and Director of Graduate Prosthodontics. Dr. Cooper is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and served as the 2010 President of the American College of Prosthodontics. He received the ACP’s 2004 Clinician/Researcher Award and the IADR’s 2009 Distinguished Scientist Award for Prosthodontics and Implantology. Dr. Cooper’s Bone Biology and Implant Therapy Laboratory focuses on bone biology, adult stem cell bone regeneration, and clinical evaluation of dental implant therapies. The laboratory receives funding through NIH and by industry collaboration. Their research findings have been presented in over 90 publications and in more than 250 national and international presentations. These efforts integrate basic and clinical research to improve patient care.
Dr Marcus Dagnelid received his dental degree in 2003 from the faculty of Odontology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Since then he has been working in a private clinic with focus on prosthetic dentistry and mainly implantology. In 2010 he received his degree as a specialist in prosthetic dentistry, board certified prosthodontist, at the Faculty of Odontology, Malmö University. Marcus has lectured extensively both nationally- and internationally in key topics such as guided surgery, CAD/CAM-based dentistry, implant prosthetics and the use of different ceramic restorations in esthetic dentistry. He has published literature on the topic, loading concepts in implant dentistry, and continuously works together with Astra Tech on product development and clinical research. Marcus is today the CEO and chief of staff at the Dagnelid Clinic, which today is one of the largest private clinics in Scandinavia.
Dr Christer Dahlin is an Ass. Professor in Guided Tissue Regeneration at Department of Biomaterials Science, Institute for Clinical Sciences, The Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is also a Senior Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with focus on implant treatment at NÄL Medical Centre Hospital, Trollhättan. He is a Member of editorial boards for Clinical Implant Dent & Related Research , Clinical Oral Implant Research, Int J Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, Titanium and Dental Traumatology. As a former research fellow, ha has been appointed Courtesy Professor College of Dentistry, University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. Dr Dahlin has over twenty years of experience in implant treatment and related research and is considered one of the pioneers in the development of the concept of Guided Bone Regeneration which still remains his main focus within research. He is currently project leader for the research group BIOMEMBRANE within the multi-disciplinary BIOMATCELL group. They are studying and developing what could be the next generation of GBR devices. He frequently travels worldwide to lecture, conduct research and teach on this and other implant-related topics.
Dr. Ingeborg J. De Kok is an Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina, School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. De Kok completed her DDS training at Central University of Venezuela in 1997 and received her Prosthodontics Certificate and MS Degree in Oral Biology at UNC in 2002. She completed a fellowship in Implant Dentistry at UNC as well in 2003. Dr. De Kok has been a faculty member at UNC since 2004. She is board eligible of the American Board of Prosthodontics and practices in UNC Dental Faculty Practice. Her major research interests include clinical improvement with the use of dental implants.
I completed my apprenticeship in Heidelberg from 1982 to 1986. My work archive the title of the best dental technician in my county. I worked in different laboratorys from 1986 until 1999. During this time I also study at the chamber of commerce in Karlsruhe for 2 years to archive my title as master craftman in dentistry. For the last 16 years I have been working as a lecture continuously in order to the final examinations at the master school in Karlsruhe. National and international lectures about implant prosthetics. I also started my own company in 1999 up to date. I have 14 employes.
Jan Derks is a certified specialist in periodontics since 2009. He received his training at the Department of Periodontology at the Institute of Odontology, University of Gothenburg. He is currently a research graduate under supervisors Prof. Jan Wennström and Prof. Tord Berglundh. His research field are biological complications associated with dental implants. Dr. Derks also has a position at the specialist clinic of periodontics in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Dr. Dudnikov received his PhD from the department of Prosthodontics, Moscow University, in 2005. In 2006 he specialized in prosthetic implant dentistry. He is the chief of Prosthetic department at EstetDent and is a member of prosthetic association; author and speaker of prosthetic and implant treatment planning.
Dr. Dominique Dupont received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nancy (France) in 1992 and then pursued specialized training in implantology and bone reconstruction prior to implantation.
He holds several university degrees (oral implantology, legal odontology and personnal injury expertise) and is an expert for the Court of Appeal of Metz (France). He has a practice limited to oral surgery and implantology in Metz, and also practices at the Polyclinic of Gentilly in Nancy in the pre-implant bone reconstruction unit.
Dr. Sameh El-Ebrashi obtained his bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) from the University of Newcastle Upon - Tyne in 1993. He completed a residency in Prosthodontics, and received a Master's of Science (MS) at the University of Michigan in 1998. He was in private practice in London, UK, and Michigan from 1998 - 2002, before returning to academia as a full-time professor at the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) from 2002 - 2006. He is currently involved with graduate education at OHSU, and is active both in local continuing education, as well as lecturing nationally, and internationally. Dr. El-Ebrashi is a board certified diplomate with both the American Board of Prosthodontics, and the American Board of Oral Implants. He is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, and the International Team of Implantology. Dr El-Ebrashi maintains a private practice in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Dr. Fevraleva graduated from Stavropol State Medical Academy in 2000 and received a certification in surgical dentistry in 2001. She currently runs a private practice in Moscow. Dr. Fevraleva is the author of patient brochures; Diseases of "periodontal tissue" (4 remaster) and "Implantation for all" (3 remaster) and books; "Elimination of gingival recession" and "Atlas of plastic surgery of soft tissue around the implants". A current member of the European Association of Osseointegration and the Russian Dental Association.
Dr. Rui Figueiredo started the Master degree program in Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Barcelona (Spain) just after receiving his Dentistry degree in 2002. After finishing this 3-year full-time postgraduate program, he obtained an advanced studies diploma (research degree) at the same institution. Since then, Dr. Figueiredo has focused his research in the Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry fields, which have lead to the publication of more than 25 scientific papers (17 in impact factor journals) and 4 book chapters. Dr. Rui Figueiredo currently holds an associate professor position in the University of Barcelona and he is also a member of the IDIBELL biomedical research group (Barcelona, Spain). His clinical activities are carried out in private practices in Barcelona, Valencia and Castellón (Spain).
Dr. Firas has a Medical Science Degree in 1989, PhD Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1994. Practices Surgery since 1990, from 1997 a head section of Russian Swedish oral implantology department, from 2000 an active member of European and American Academy of Osseointegration. In 2005 working as a director of Educational department in oral implantology and the Certification Center Firadent. In 2008 was an active lecture of Astra Tech international congress in Washington. Since 1998 he is the head opinion leader for Astra Teach in Russia and the Baltic. He has published more than 25 scientific papers and over 75 lectures.
Kerstin Fischer was examined as DDS 1975 in Göteborg and as specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery 1993 in Stockholm. In 2008 Kerstin Fischer defended the thesis: On immediate/early loading of implant-supported prostheses in the maxilla and received the Ph.D. degree at Göteborg University. Dr Fischer started with implant treatment in the early 1990´ and has since received experience of a large number of a wide range of implant treatment. The last ten years she has worked in private practice with a total focus on implant dentistry. She has a great interest and experience in esthetics and tissue engineering in the field of implant dentistry. Dr Fischer has lectured at several courses in implant treatment and provided guidance to many general dentists in implant surgery. Her research is presented at national and international congresses and published in peer-reviewed journals. She is an ITI Fellow and is Study Club Coordinator in the Swedish section and in addition a member of the ITI Study Club Core Group.
Pablo Galindo-Moreno, DDS, PhD is Associate Professor in Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry, at University of Granada, Spain, and Visiting Associate Professor in Periodontics and Oral Medicine at University of Michigan, USA. He has collaborated in many different publications regarding Implant Dentistry, being more focused in the processes that affect biomaterials remodelling in sinus grafting techniques. He is fellow of the European Board in Oral Surgery (EFOSS), and Diplomate in Oral Implantology by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Currently he is president of the Spanish College of Oral Implantologists and he is usual speaker in several international forums.
Rachel Garraway graduated from the University of Queensland with a BDSc (Hons) in 1992. She worked in private practice in Toowoomba before undertaking her specialty training in Periodontics at the University of Queensland. She was awarded the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation prize for her publication on Periodontal Regeneration. In 1997 she travelled to London to work in the Department of Periodontology at the Royal London Hospital. Since returning to Brisbane she has worked in a group specialist periodontal private practice. She has spent time lecturing and demonstrating in Periodontics at the University of Qeensland Dental School. She is a Fellow and Speaker for the ITI. She is a member of the FICD and the QLD councillor for Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists.
